The answer to your questions is most likely no. No one has done a training, as we know it, on this new site. However, the potential for future training is promising in that the basic materials are all encompassed in the new site and the Partners are still providing the awesome materials that we all know and trust.
The new paradigm is for you to familiarize yourself with the changed navigation and build the training on your own specific needs as a teacher/district. My suggestion would be to encourage your teachers to search for groups that would be helpful in answering some of the issues that they face in their teaching environment. An example of that might be: If your teachers have been issued IPads - join the IPad group and interact with them on common problems and concerns. If you have some teachers interested in the Problem Based Learning approach - I suggest they go to the PBL Group and interact directly with an outstanding school in CA who has been very successful in implementing PBL curriculum.
Good luck with the new site.
an FYI, a self-paced course has been developed which Jane Brown is pushing out to teachers to help them build their capacity with the new Thinkfinity. I am also using this online course in my state of SD as a facilitated online course to be there when teachers have questions. I will be offering this online course to the teachers in this area in mid-October to get the ball rolling and people reacquainted with the new site. I love the new site and hope everyone else does too. :-)
Yes, if you go to places and - Search for "Thinkfinity, Your Professional Learning Community". People are already signing up for the course since they are self-paced. I am going to make one that is not self-paced that I can facilitate as an online 8 week graded course. I am developing the rubrics now and am visiting with Jane about making that group private so I can add more assignments. :-) So you have interest in that, you can contact Jane Brown. I will have my course edited for grading and can share that with you to decide if you would like a course like that.
