I totally agree. We have had one inservice on 21st century skills and definately need more training!!! So many teachers year after year continue to do the same thing as they have always done. We need to begin to teach 21st century learners! Help!
Having an in-house training is always the most desired, but without that alternative, have you considered doing a Video Study (as an alternative to a book study) as a PLC to help build teacher understanding of 21st Century Skills and the implementation of them in the classroom?
One site I might recommend to begin the work is Partnership for 21st Century Skills. Here you will find examples of Exemplar Schools and case studies. You could meet once a month throughout the school year selecting various exemplar school videos and case studies to review, consider how to implement in your classroom, then discuss in your PLC to build your own expertise. You might find it difficult to meet monthly so you could also create your own virtual group right here within the Thinkfinity Community to carry on the work.
