How do you help your child learn about other people? Often we focus on historic sites or places unique to an area or we look at some of the things that make the lifestyle so different from ours. For the Inuit or Eskimos, we might focus on the cold, remote area in which they live and naturally we would talk about igloos and whale hunting.
Do you also look at ways in which we are similar to others? What do you also do to help your child learn to respect differences and appreciate similarities – maybe even empathize – with others?
