I love June. The school year is wrapping up and summer is still stretching out, luxuriously, before us. Plans take shape in June. And though my weekends may be booked from July to mid-August, there are always those nice, random weekdays to fill. I usually get overwhelmed looking online for kid-friendly things to do, but I found these great pages below.
Capital Toss: Capital Cities is a free, educational, geography game offered by abcya.com and recommended for kids grades 3-5. "The object of the game is to match states and countries to their capital cities. There are two modes of play: states and countries. If you get ten correct you get to select a new type of ball toss. If you get three incorrect in a row the game is over. HINT: Check out the map to see the location of the state or country."
What do you think of this game as an activity to help children review their knowledge of state and country capitals?
