I'm both a retired teacher and in my "retirement" years, and greatly encouraged by children in my local primary school. I've written over 1000 new poems for children of every age. You can see a lot of my poems on my main website (for I have five).
If you go straight to my main poetry index, you will see a link to my poetry performance competitions for the autumn term. As teachers, you will also know the benefits of your children performing poems in your school and anywhere else. I feel that my competitions will bring a lot of fun to your classrooms during the autumn term and that the winning entrants will do a lot to stimulate other children in other classrooms too.
I'd love to hear what your school does to encourage children to RECITE (not read) poems well and what benefits you think it brings to the children.
