I was wondering if anyone could give me an opinion on the best ways to use flash on iPads. I am a tech coordinator at a 1:1 iPad school, and my Math Dept. would like to dive into using the iXL program. From what I'm told, many of the questions on iXL require Flash, and the only way I know to use Flash on the iPad is through the Puffin and Rover apps... neither of which have proven to be problem-free in the past.
Does anyone have a suggestion? I'm interested in the best and the cheapest solutions.
Greetings! This is a topic for many, as is seen in this discussion: i need adobe flash player on my ipad.
I did locate an interesting 'attempt' explained and demonstrated ▶ How to run Flash on ipad2 (No Hacks, very easy, free!) - YouTube.
Isn't it frustrating when you find a good tool, but it won't work on the device you have? I recall teachers at a Mac school frustrated because a CD they bought for class wouldn't work. A quick look at the requirements revealed that it was for WIN only.
I would be interested in knowing if you try this out for the iXL math program. I don't have an iPad to try it on. The site seems to work fine on a Nexus 7.
Thank you! I'm literally working on the iPad right now to see what works and what doesn't. I don't understand why you would have an iPad app for a program and filter through content that is not iPad friendly, but we'll work it out. We are also trying to decide if we will continue with the technology we have now or branch on to other devices. We are experimenting with a few different things with small groups this year to make decisions for next year. I will keep you and everyone else in this discussion informed.
William, I downloaded the free version of Puffin on my iPod Touch and have easily accessed a flash game that I could not access before. I thank you for suggesting it. I'm wondering if you have the newest version #3 which has fixed some earlier bugs. At times we forget how the upgrades can really make a difference. Although I have heard that WIN 8.1 still hasn't fixed all the WIN 8 issues, but that's another topic! Jeanne
