As I provide professional development for math teachers, many say they really want to change how they teach but would find it helpful to watch others. The problem is that they can't leave their classrooms. The 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice address how students can learn math to build deep conceptual understanding. Many teachers have embraced these practices and would be great models for others to learn from. I have recommended the Teaching Channel as a great starting point. What other websites might you recommend that exemplify the implementation of the 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice at its best?
Another wonderful website that models classroom practices for both the content and practice standards is Welcome to the Inside Mathematics Website. Here you will find videos spanning all grades and all of the Standards for Mathematics. This would be a wonderful tool for coaching, professional development, or personal growth.
