Recently, I created some assessment documents-standards based parent reports, that I would like to translate in their entirety. I've been working with google translate, but it has been a tedious process. I also came across translation.babylon.com...but am not sure about the download. Since I am doing this on my own, it is important that I find a free resource.
Does anyone have suggestions/resources or experience in translating whole documents rather than word by word?
This is a really good question, mso, and I look forward to seeing member responses. I'm interested in the resultant list of free translators and in the recommendations our foreign language teachers make regarding the accuracy of the translated documents produced.
As a teacher I went through some no longer available and as a community manager I use Google Translate for quick understanding of what I see posted in the community. As a teacher, I always passed my translations through the foreign language teacher, in my case those documents for parents were almost always in Spanish, to be sure idioms didn't offend my parents.
You might consider posting this question in the Online Tools for Educators group. They have been pretty good at finding the best free tools on the Web.
