How are you learning about the Common Core standards?

It takes precious time to understand the Common Core standards. And we know how little time, beyond their daily duties, that teachers have!

  • Are you getting professional development from your district to help you understand the Common Core standards?
  • Are you meeting in groups to understand what is working for your students and what isn't, giving support to each other?
  • Are you working with those in Higher Education near you to change your teaching methods to meet the Common Core standards for your subject?
  • Are you joining national groups like our new Common Core group where you will be able to read blogs each month about themes surrounding the Common Core standards and find resources to support these standards for your subject?  Our Content Partners whom you have come to know and trust will be blogging in this group each month. You will want to join us there to keep up with current information and discuss with educators all over the United States what is happening in their schools/states.

The Los Angeles Times printed a tweet from one teacher that said, "Within a couple of years, 'we start testing on standards we're not teaching with curriculum we don't have on computers that don't exist.'"

Common Core standards are here. Will you be informed and ready to help your students succeed?  How are you learning about the Common Core standards?
