Homes in the middle ages were cold, wet, and dark. They had small tall windows. Peasants’ homes were small and made of wood and straw. Wealthy people lived in elaborate homes, but showed their wealth. The castles had stained glass windows that represented scenes from the bible, and Kitchens were used for cooking, and heating.
The middle ages homes were cold, damp, and dark. It was sometimes warmer and lighter outside the house than in it. For protection their windows were very small. They also had wooden shutters that were closed during night time or when bad weather hit. They had thatched roofs and were very easy to destroy.
