As you're getting into the swing of things this new school year, the History Explorer team wanted to be sure you were aware of a few resources to help you:
September 11: On the 12th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, our themes page has resources including a podcast on the Museum's 9/11 collection and resources for teaching about tragedy with young children.
Constitution Day, September 17: On our blog, high school teacher Kacie Kratzert shares ideas for teaching Constitution Day beyond government classes.
Ask a Curator Day: On September 18, curators at museums worldwide will be answering questions about their specialties on Twitter. It's a great opportunity for your students to interact with experts and to learn some intriguing new facts. Curators at the National Museum of American History will be participating--you can learn more about the format from this blog post from last year. We'll keep you posted on the topics for this year!
